A Great Powdermills Day

This weeks wedding at Powdermills in Sussex had been planned for a long time. Over the last year Cathy and Paul have visited my studio for a number of portrait sessions so I knew exactly the style of photography they wanted on the day.

Goodbye Nick

I had a phone call this week from Stella who is the wedding co-ordinator for The Powdermills Hotel in Battle Sussex inviting me to the Sundial Restaurant Herstmonceux.

The party was to say farewell to Nick Walker the general manager who is emigrating to Australia. I have known Nick for many years, he has been a great manager and will be sorely missed.

After everyone had lost their money on the roulette and black jack tables followed by a magnificent meal, Stella under the guise of Ant and Deck put Nick and his wife through some ''Get me out of Here'' tasks.

A memorable evening was had by all. We all wish Nick and his family all the best for their new life down under.

At This Time Of Year

As winter approaches and weddings slow down I look forward to the influx of portrait commissions, which increase at this time of the year.

Many photographers advocate ‘environmental portraits’ as the modern way.

I feel very lucky to have a studio to work in which give me the opportunity to produce classic images.

David and Anna wanted a large wall portrait, a warm image full of feeling.

I think we succeeded.

The
Italian Connection

Deborah's and Claudio's wedding was held at the magnificent Worth Abbey This was the first time that I had covered a wedding at the abbey, but as I had followed the BBC programme ''The Monastery'' it all seemed very familiar.

All of Claudio's relations had made the trip from Italy so the choice of Jeremy's resturant in Borde Hill Gardens was the perfect choice, six courses of the finest Italian food spread over three hours cumulating with Deborah's
weakness, lots of sweets and chocolate- heaven!
