True Art
This time of the year my studio work takes over. Having spent my younger years learning the craft in various London studios, I love the control my studio gives me to create the mood that suits my subject.
I am always amused by photographers selling their portraits under ''arty'' names to try to give them a mystique, when they are no more than snapshots taken in the local park.
Robert Sample is a true artist, the type that can turn a few oil paints into a powerful and provocative painting,so when he chose me to take his portrait for his forthcoming London exhibition I was delighted. Here are a small selection of images from the session.
